The BLM invites the public to celebrate National Public Lands Day 2024, “Together for Tomorrow” during the all-volunteer event on Sept. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BLM Campbell Tract.

The Bureau of Land Management Bishop Field Office would like to encourage all visitors who plan on camping in the Alabama Hills this fall to plan ahead and prepare in order to have the best camping experience possible while enjoying and taking care of public lands. Camping in the Alabama Hills from mid-September through November can be very busy, with campsites filling up on weekends. Additionally, the main access to the Hills through Whitney Portal Road is closed and visitors must use an alternate route, which adds travel time to get to Movie Road.
The Bureau of Land Management’s Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council will meet in person on Tuesday Nov. 19, and Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024. The public is welcome to attend both meetings.
Fire restrictions will decrease in northeast Nevada on Tuesday, October 1 on public lands and unincorporated private lands in Elko, Lander, and Eureka Counties.
