Wyoming Fisheries and Aquatics
Wyoming offers habitat for native fishes that warrant conservation planning and action, including many native and naturalized trout fisheries and over a dozen species of game fish. There are a variety of trout including rainbow, brown, lake, brook and native cutthroat as well as splake, walleye, channel catfish, perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass. The BLM and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department encourage you to enjoy your public lands but respect the land, all landowners and other sportspersons and anglers.
BLM Wyoming fisheries program focuses on several projects and habitat enhancement and restoration efforts each year, including inventorying and monitoring for a BLM sensitive fish species, monitoring for aquatic invasive species prevention, and the removal of fish barriers that can reconnect native fishes with more extensive reaches of native habitats
