Christmas tree permits are available online at https://forestproducts.blm.gov. The cost for a permit is $7.50 to $10 per tree, depending on location.

The BLM has approved a business plan to assess an expanded amenity fee at developed campgrounds in the Uncompahgre Field Office beginning May 21, 2025.

BLM plans pile burns in Socorro, Sandoval and Catron counties

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) plans to burn piles of juniper, piñon and salt cedar slash in Socorro, Sandoval and Catron counties. Weather permitting, the burns will take place between now and Feb. 28, 2025.

The Bureau of Land Management, North Central Montana District’s fuels program managers plan to burn up to seven woody slash pile units throughout the fall and winter months.
