Visitors who explore Montana history at Garnet Ghost Town east of Missoula will pay a higher entrance fee starting this summer, marking the first time the Bureau of Land Management has raised the price in nearly 20 years.
The Bureau of Land Management Montana-Dakotas State Office today opened a 30-day public comment period to receive public input on 20 oil and gas parcels totaling 3,173 acres that may be included in an upcoming lease sale in North Dakota.
BLM fire crews will conduct prescribed fire operations west of La Barge, Wyoming between mid-May and July as part of a multi-year project. Fire operations will begin only when conditions are favorable for a safe and effective burn on public lands managed by the Pinedale Field Office.

High Rock Canyon Road is open for the season. High Rock Canyon is a fourteen-mile-long canyon and a great place for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-roading.
The Bureau of Land Management is implementing new fees for recreation sites in the King Range National Conservation Area on the North Coast, and for the Steiner Flat and Ohl Olsen campgrounds managed by the Redding Field Office, to improve access to public lands, enhance public health and safety, and better protect natural resources.
