Women in Wildland Fire Bootcamp
Apply now for the 2024 Bootcamp
The BLM values and welcomes diversity and inclusion in all its spaces. This paid bootcamp provides basic firefighting training and an introduction to fire culture. All you need is a pillow, sleeping bag, all terrain shoes and willingness to learn.
You’ll spend seven days in October at a remote duty station on the Vale District in eastern Oregon. During this time, you’ll learn about physical fitness, dietary needs, outdoor camping, and field skills, along with firefighter training.
Upon successfully completing the training, you will be eligible for wildland firefighting jobs with any federal agency.
