Local Partnerships

The national Firewise organization assists people and communities with reducing wildfire risks to homes, neighborhoods and entire communities. There are hundreds of Firewise neighborhoods throughout the country, so visit www.firewise.org to find out how you can increase the odds that your home will survive a wildfire.   

Many states have formed Firewise organizations that are statewide or city/county-based, so visit the national Firewise page to find out if there is a Firewise organization near you!

Community Assistance

Rural Fire Readiness

Cooperative partnerships between the BLM and local, volunteer, and rural fire departments are crucial to success in responding to remote wildfires on private, state and federal lands affecting grazing, recreational, wildlife and other values important to local rural economies.
