Fire Restrictions

Fairbanks District Office

Temporary Fire Prevention Order AK020-24-001, issued April 25, 2024, for federal lands in the Gilmore Creek and Gold Run Creek areas near Fairbanks, including the NOAA facility on the Steese Highway. The Fire Prevention Order begins at 12:01 a.m. May 1 and expires at midnight October 31.

Temporary Fire Closure Order AK020-24-002, issued June 28, 2024 for the Western portion of the White Mountains National Recreation Area. The Fire Closure Order begins at 12:01 a.m. June 29 and expires on September 1.
