Volunteers needed for Red Rock Day on April 23

Las Vegas – Join the Bureau of Land Management, Friends of Red Rock Canyon and the Southern Nevada Conservancy to assist with various maintenance and restoration projects at Red Rock Canyon Campground on April 23. Projects include painting, removal of litter, installation of wooden posts, creation of tent pads, etc. Please plan ahead and dress appropriately for the weather conditions and work to be completed. Long-sleeved shirts, long pants and boots or tennis shoes are recommended. Lunch will be served and water, snacks, gloves and tools will be provided. Red Rock Canyon was designated as Nevada's first national conservation area. It is located 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip on Charleston Boulevard/State Route 159. The area includes a LEED certified visitor center, 13-Mile Scenic Drive, miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, road biking, picnic areas, nature observing and the Red Spring Interpretive Boardwalk.
