Public Scoping Open for Proposed Diamond #1-27 Oil Well project

ELKO, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management, Tuscarora Field Office, has opened public scoping on the proposed Diamond #1-27 wildcat oil well south of Jiggs, Nevada in Diamond Valley. The purpose of the public scoping is to gather information on potential resources and issues in the project location. Any input, recommendations and concerns will be used to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) evaluating the impacts of gas exploration drilling in in Diamond Valley, Nevada. Comments are due July 30.
Great Basin Oil & Gas, LLC. proposes to drill and complete a well on public lands within the Diamond Valley T. 27 N., R. 54 E., Section 27, NWNW. The drilling project is expected to last 30 to 60 days. Along with drill pad construction, sound baffling would be constructed as well as maintenance to existing roads to allow for drill rig and support vehicle traffic.
