Liberty Utilities to host virtual public meeting for Luning II solar project

Carson City, Nev - Liberty Utilities will be hosting two virtual public meetings to discuss their proposed Luning II solar and battery storage project on Tues., July 28, and Thurs, July 30. This project would be located next to the existing Luning Solar facility which is approximately four miles northeast of Luning, NV. 

Liberty Utilities has applied to BLM for a 30-year grant, and construction is anticipated to last 12 to 18 months and will encompass approximately 560 acres. This project would be a solar photovoltaic generation facility and battery power storage facility which would produce, store, and transmit 184,000 MWh per year of electricity.

The purpose of the meeting is for discussion of the proposed project and public input. Topics will include the prior Luning project, discussion of size and capacity, timeline, and changes based off lessons learned from their first project.

The meeting itinerary is as follows:

Luning Solar Phase I (BEC and Liberty with BLM support)

Previous Environmental Studies

Capacity

Operations (unforeseen issues, problems, successes, environmental [bird] interactions, etc.)

Proposed Luning Solar and Storage Phase II (much of the information from the Plan of Development) (Liberty)
