BLM seeks public input for Bell Mountain Exploration Corporation EA

CARSON CITY, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management, Carson City District, Stillwater Field Office, will be preparing an environmental assessment (EA) to analyze the direct, indirect and cumulative effects for a new Mine Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan submitted by Bell Mountain Exploration Corporation. Public comments will be accepted through August 22, 2019.
The proposed Bell Mountain Mine would consist of open pit mining and heap leach processing located in Churchill County, Nevada, approximately 40 miles southeast of Fallon, Nevada, and would mine for gold and silver. In addition, to accommodate the Proposed Action, one new right-of-way for a water conveyance pipeline and use of the existing Earthquake Fault Road would require authorization. The Proposed Action would encompass approximately 181 acres of new disturbance on BLM-administered lands.
