SILT, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments on a natural gas and water pipeline proposal west of DeBeque, Colo.

The BLM is preparing an environmental assessment of Red Rock Gathering Company’s proposal to construct and operate the Winter Flats Pipeline project, consisting of 12-inch and 16-inch buried pipelines. The two pipelines would deliver natural gas and water to the DeBeque Processing Plant from oil and gas well pads operated or planned by Black Hills Plateau Production.

The proposed pipelines would cross approximately 21.4 miles of BLM lands, mostly paralleling an existing pipeline corridor along Mesa County Roads V.2 and V.6.  Red Rock Gathering hopes to begin work in fall 2015.

The BLM is asking the public to identify comments, concerns and issues before it begins drafting the environmental assessment of this proposal. Additional information including a map is available for review at the BLM Colorado River Valley Field Office and online at http://1.usa.gov/1HZXoek.

Comments will be most helpful if received by Aug. 7, 2015. Written comments and questions should be directed to the Colorado River Valley Field Office, 2300 River Frontage Road, Silt, CO 81652 or submitted electronically to blm_co_si_mail@blm.gov.
