BLM seeks comments on proposed well and lease stipulation waiver

CARLSBAD, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carlsbad Field Office has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze COG Operating, LLC’s Big Papi 701-706H proposal. The proposal includes constructing, operating and maintaining six wells located on two well pads, one central tank battery, access roads, buried flowlines and overhead electric. The proposal also includes a waiver of the Pecos River/Canyon Complex No Surface Occupancy lease stipulation, SENM-S-11 for the entire lease, NMNM 115417. The 400-acre lease and the well development proposal are in Eddy County. 

Per 43 C.F.R. 3101.1-4, BLM must provide a 30-day public review period of any modifications or waivers of lease terms or stipulations. The comment period for this action will be Sept. 10 through Oct. 12, 2021. The EA is available on the BLM ePlanning website at: https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2011174/510.
