BLM Reopening El Malpais National Conservation Area Ranger Station

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – On Friday, March 18, 2022, the Bureau of Land Management Rio Puerco Field Office will welcome visitors back to the El Malpais National Conservation Area Ranger Station. The Ranger Station has been closed since March 2020 to conduct maintenance, remodels, and an interpretive redesign of the ranger station.
Visitors are invited to explore the newly renovated ranger station during its reopening weekend from March 18, 2022, through March 20, 2022, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Located approximately 9.25 miles along NM Highway 117 south of Interstate 40 exit 89, near Grants, NM, station normal operating hours will be Friday through Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
