BLM to Issue Firewood Permits in Billy Creek Area of Big Horns

BUFFALO, Wyo. – Firewood and post and pole permits for the Billy Creek Firewood area will be issued by the Bureau of Land Management Buffalo Field Office from June 21 to Sept. 20, 2018.  As stewards, the BLM manages public lands for the benefit of current and future generations, supporting conservation as we pursue our multiple-use mission.

Permits are limited to three cords per person.  Permits are $7.50 per cord and $1.50 per post or pole.    Individuals must show up in person at the Buffalo Field Office, located at 1425 Fort Street between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to purchase a permit.  

All products must be removed no later than Sept. 20 and the areas will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The area is designated with signage and flagging and all standing dead and downed trees within tract are available.  The post and poles will be signed and trees marked with paint prior to the sale.
