BLM announces opening of Santa Cruz Lake Recreation Area

Taos, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Taos Field Office will open the Santa Cruz Lake Recreation Area for the season on March 1. The lake covers 121 surface acres at the base of Sangre de Cristo Mountains and offers recreational opportunities for boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking and camping.

WHEN: March 1 thru May 14 - Thursday through Monday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Beginning May 15 - Thursday through Monday, 6a.m. - 8 p.m.
Daily Use Fee - $5 per vehicle
Annual Passes - $20 per vehicle.
Gentle Reminders:
- Please be prepared with the exact cash or checks for payment; and
- Boaters are required to be off the water 30 minutes prior to closing so the Entrance Gate can be closed at 5 p.m.
