Subject:           Cost Recovery Fee Schedule for the Public

 

Purpose:  This Instruction Memorandum (IM) updates the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arizona Cost Recovery Fee Schedule to match the current Department of the Interior (DOI), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) fee structure.

 

Policy/Action:  All BLM Arizona Information Access Centers (IACs) and employees who provide goods or services subject to Cost Recovery Fees are to use the current costs listed in the attachment:  BLM Arizona Cost Recovery Fee Schedule.  The fees outlined in the FOIA regulations also apply to information and services routinely available to the public and sold through the IAC.

 

Timeframe:  Effective immediately.

 

Background:  The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-130 provides guidance to Federal agencies for determining costs for providing copies of information to the public.  The Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), P.L. 94-579, Section 304 [43 U.S.C. 1734], authorizes the BLM to charge and collect for the cost of providing information to the public.
