The planning area covers 14.4 million acres in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Trinity, Siskiyou, Shasta, Tehama, and Butte counties, including approximately 382,000 acres of BLM-managed public lands and 295,100 acres of federal mineral estate.
