Colorado Rocky Mountain RAC

The Colorado Rocky Mountain RAC is a citizen-group that represents BLM Colorado's Royal Gorge and San Luis Valley field offices, providing recommendations to the BLM on the management of public lands and resources in the area. The 15 members of the RAC, who serve staggered, three-year terms, operate on the principle of collaborative decision-making and work to reach consensus before making official recommendations.

Called to Serve?

The Rocky Mountain RAC periodically seeks nominations to fill vacancies on the council. To be eligible for nomination, individuals must meet the requirements outlined on the RAC's application process page. Individuals may nominate themselves or others. Nominees must be residents of the State of Colorado. The BLM will evaluate nominees based on their education, training, experience, and knowledge of the geographic area of the RAC. Nominees should demonstrate a commitment to collaborative resource decision-making. The following must accompany all nominations.

  • A completed RAC application, which can either be obtained through your local BLM office or online.
  • Letters of reference from represented interests or organizations;
  • Any other information that addresses the nominee’s qualifications.

Nominations and completed applications should be sent to Levi Spellman, BLM Rocky Mountain District Office, 3028 East Main Street, Cañon City, CO 81212; phone: (719) 269-8553; email: lspellman@blm.gov
