Pelican Island

Pelican Island is a small five-acre mangrove island located just off the coast of Florida.

The island is home to many different species of fish, plants, animals, and a uniquely large population of brown pelicans.  Learn about the the Nation's First Wildlife Refuge was designated by former President Theodore Roosevelt with this story map.
