Trails Center to host frontier basket weaving workshop July 20
Event Description
CASPER, Wyo. – The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is offering a basket weaving workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. Jean Smart, local historic re-enactor, will lead the workshop demonstrating frontier basket making skills.
The workshop is free to the public, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Supplies needed to make a small basket will be provided.
“Jean is a master at what she does and not afraid to get her hands wet and dirty,” says BLM education technician, Stacey Moore. “Participants will walk away with a new perspective on the historic art form of basket weaving and other new skills.”
