Event Description
The 16th annual Cottonwood Days is happening in Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area September 23-27!
Staff from BLM Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area, along with friends group Colorado Canyons Association and state and local partners, including Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Gunnison Gorge Anglers (local chapter of Trout Unlimited), the Ute Indian Museum, and The Nature Connection, will host area sixth graders in a variety of fun and interactive educational activities along the Gunnison River.
Students will learn from experts at field stations focused on the riparian ecosystem, fish identification, macroinvertebrates, fly fishing, and past and present human connections to the Gunnison River.
Be prepared for a large group of high-energy students, educators, employees, and volunteers to spread out across Cottonwood Grove Campground daily throughout the week…and plan accordingly!
