Notice of Final Supplementary Rule for Colorado Western Slope Areas
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Bureau of Land Management finalized a supplementary rule for public lands and BLM facilities managed by the Colorado River Valley Field Office, Grand Junction Field Office, Kremmling Field Office, and Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area in Western Colorado. This supplementary rule is needed to enforce the BLM's decisions established in the existing resource management plans in these areas. BLM will use the final rule as a guide to manage recreation, address public safety, and provide resource protection on BLM-managed public lands.
The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
