National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center now open 7 days a week
Event Description
BAKER CITY, Ore. — The National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center has transitioned to its summer schedule and is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
Visitors can explore the interactive “Pack Your Wagon” exhibit, where pioneers of all ages can decide what items to bring across the Oregon Trail. The exhibit allows guests to price supplies and load scale models into a wagon bed.
Free ranger programs are available at 1 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The center also features four picnic shelters and two miles of paved, accessible trails leading to a lode mine site and stamp mill for outdoor exploration. The Ruts Access Trail is located on Highway 86, about a quarter mile west of the center’s driveway.
Summer admission rates take effect April 1. Tickets are $8 for visitors ages 16 and older and $6 for seniors. Admission is free for children, and all national recreation passes are accepted at the center.
