Legacy Baja Nevada 2024 competitive OHV race to begin June 28
ELY, Nev –Legacy Racing Association will hold the Legacy Baja Nevada 2024 competitive off-highway vehicle race beginning Friday, June 28, near Mesquite, Nev., and concluding Saturday, June 29, near Ely, Nev. The two-day event will be held on Bureau of Land Management Southern Nevada and Ely district-managed lands.
“Southern and eastern Nevada’s rugged landscape offers the challenging, long distance back country desert racing opportunity that Legacy Racing Association and its participants seek,” said Robbie McAboy, BLM Ely District Manager.
On day one, participants will race approximately 330 miles from Mesquite to south of Ely. On day two, they will race approximately 320 miles, beginning and ending in Ely. Participating vehicles include motorcycles, Quads, UTVs, trucks, and buggies.
Race participants may utilize roads the public uses to access public lands on both June 28 and 29, so please plan accordingly. To provide for public safety, Legacy Racing officials will control traffic along the race route and several access roads until the last race vehicle has passed.
Because of the dangerous high speed competitive nature of this type of event, there have been no approved areas for spectators. Due to aircraft used for filming the race, the use of drones during the event is strongly discouraged since they could interfere with aircraft in the area and pose a public safety issue.
