Event Description

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.— Personal use fuelwood cutting permits for the BLM Klamath Falls Field Office will be available for purchase online or in-person starting April 15. Permits can be purchased in-person at the Klamath Falls Field Office, 2795 Anderson Avenue, Bldg. #25, Klamath Falls, OR 97603.

To purchase a fuelwood permit online:

  1. Go to https://forestproducts.blm.gov/
  2. Click on Oregon, select the Field Office, and then select Fuelwood.
  3. Complete and submit the application.
  4. Enter your credit/debit card information. Your payment will be processed within minutes, and you will then print your permit.

You will also receive an email with all the maps, stipulations, load tags, and documentation you will need to cut and remove products from BLM land safely. All purchased permits are final; no refunds will be granted.

Fuelwood cutting permits are for personal use only. The cost of a fuelwood permit is $5 per cord, two cord minimum, eight cord maximum per household per year. Permits are valid for each calendar year.

“Starting this year, our fuelwood areas will be open year-round unless behind a closed gate,” said Acting Field Manager Don Rayome. “Permits will be valid until the end of the year that they were purchased in.”

A commercial fuelwood permit is required for individuals who want more than eight cords and want to cut wood for resale or commercial use.

While out cutting fuelwood, remember to have your permit and map. Follow all permit stipulations and use caution to prevent wildfires. Please stay on existing roads and review your map to ensure you are on lands managed by the BLM and within authorized fuelwood cutting units.

For more information or to purchase your permit in person, call the Klamath Falls Field Office at 541-883-6916.
