Crescent Sand Dunes National Public Lands Day Event 2024
Event Description
Join the Tonopah Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management for a Recreational Improvement Installation and Clean Up event at Crescent Sand Dunes on September 28, 2024. People of all ages are welcome.
We will be cleaning up trash along the Crescent Sand Dunes and installing new picnic tables and fire rings. Water, gloves, trash bags and trash-grabbers will be provided. Additionally, there will be six activity stations where participants can learn about BLM’s stewardship of public lands which includes: preservation, wild horse and burro management, ecology, recreation, minerals and more. For children there will be "passports" that can be stamped at each station. Once a completed passport is shown, the participant may choose a prize (as long as supplies last).
Porta-potties will be available at the project area.
The goal of this National Public Lands Day event is to bring together and connect the public and the BLM to learn how to preserve and protect our Public Lands for us, and for the future.
