The California Trail Interpretive Center Returns to Summer Hours: Open Seven Days a Week
Elko, Nevada – The California Trail Interpretive Center (CTIC) will resume a seven-day per week schedule beginning Monday, May 6, 2024. Operating hours will be Monday through Sunday 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The Trail Center is located eight miles west of Elko, Nevada at the Hunter 292 exit on Interstate 80. The California Trail Interpretive Center is a popular place to visit for the local public and travelers on Interstate 80.
“After the long winter months in Elko we are all excited to get out and enjoy the summer and sun. Our seven-day week operation hours are designed to give folks the opportunity to get outdoors during the summer months, learn about our Nation’s rich trail history, and participate in educational events and activities both indoors and out during the summer at the Center,” said CTIC Manager Paul Brownlee.
The CTIC will continue the popular interpretive programming for all ages to enjoy and participate in. Each weekend will have a different focus, providing something for all interests. Watch for season-specific activities such as California Trail Days, Ecology hikes, Traditional Ice-cream making and more coming up this summer that the whole family can enjoy. The CTIC gift shop is also the place to find one-of-a-kind gifts for family and friends.
The facility will be open seven days a week including federal holidays starting May 6. 2024 until October 6, 2024, when winter hours will resume.
