BLM Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council Announces September Meeting Date

LAKEVIEW, Ore. — The Bureau of Land Management’s Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet in person on Tuesday Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024. The public is welcome to attend both meetings. The meetings will be held at the BLM Burns District Office, 28910 Highway 20 West, Hines, Oregon, 97738. A virtual participation option will also be available, and participation instructions will be posted to the Southeast Oregon RAC’s webpage in advance of the meeting.

"The Southeast Oregon RAC members are a critical part of the land management process," Todd Forbes, Lakeview District Manager said. "Members provide a link to communities by sharing their diverse perspectives that help inform BLM activities throughout the State.”

Advisory councils consist of up to 15 members representing diverse interests in the local community. The Southeast Oregon RAC provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior on public land resource and management issues in the Vale, Burns, and Lakeview BLM Districts and the Fremont-Winema and Malheur National Forests.

Agenda topics include District updates, an update on the Lakeview Resource Management Plan Amendment, and presentations on the Public Lands Rule and BLM Blueprint for Recreation.

A half-hour comment period, during which the public may address the RAC, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 and 9:45 a.m. Depending on the number of people wishing to comment and the time available, the amount of time for individual oral comments may be limited.
