BLM seeks input on proposed Black Mountain gen-tie transmission line
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on the proposed Black Mountain transmission line project near Las Cruces in Doña Ana County. If approved, El Paso Electric, in partnership with EDF Renewables Distributed Solutions, Inc., would be authorized to construct, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission a two single-circuit 345-kilovolt overhead transmission lines across less than half a mile of public lands.
The gen-tie line would connect the 100-megawatt photovoltaic Black Mountain Solar project and 50-megawatt battery energy storage system located on private lands to the existing power transmission system.
