BLM seeks input on materials extraction supporting Bear Lake marina expansion

GARDEN CITY, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on a proposal to extract approximately 360,000 cubic yards of borrow pit material from public lands in Rich County. If approved, Utah State Parks would be authorized to excavate and remove soil, gravel, and rock from approximately 11 acres on the west side of Bear Lake for construction of the proposed expansion of the Bear Lake State Park marina.

BLM and the State of Utah engage in a cooperative working relationship, promoting responsible extraction activities in support of Utah’s economy and quality of life.

Additional information is available at the BLM National NEPA Register, where comments may be submitted through the ‘Participate Now’ option. For more information, please contact the Salt Lake Field Office at blm_ut_sl_mail@blm.gov or 801-320-8300.
