REDDING, Calif.  —  The Bureau of Land Management’s Northern California District Resource Advisory Council will hold a virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams, Thursday, May 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Members of the public are welcome, and can register to participate. The council will hear public comments at 11a.m. A copy of the agenda is available online.

RAC members will hear overviews of current Executive and Secretarial orders, review and consider approval of Forest Service recreation site business plans, receive updates on BLM land tenure actions, and hear updates on BLM wild horse and burro management in northeast California.  Council members will also hear updates from the BLM California state director and from managers of the Applegate, Arcata, Eagle Lake and Redding field offices.

All are welcome to address the council during the public comment portion of the meeting. A time limit could be set to accommodate all speakers.

The 15-member council is composed of varied public land interests including recreation, livestock grazing, timber and forest products, environmental organizations, wild horse and burro management, local government, the academic sector, state natural resource agencies and the public at large. It focuses on lands managed by the Northern California District, which includes land in far northwest Nevada. More information is available from BLM Public Affairs Officer Jeff Fontana, 530-260-0189.
