LOVELOCK, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management issued the Final Environmental Assessment for the proposed Wildcat Exploration Project in the Seven Troughs Range near Lovelock in Pershing County. If approved, Millennial NV, LLC, could assess gold mining potential across more than 12,000 public and private acres with an estimated surface modification of approximately 400 acres, 365 of which are on public lands.

The project would include:

  • construction of drilling pads;
  • access road improvements and maintenance;
  • monitoring well and measurement installations;
  • water production wells and piping;
  • geochemical and geotechnical data collection, including trenching, test-pitting, and borehole drilling; and
  • laydown yards.

The company would be required to return the modified areas to their natural state at the end of the project.

Public participation during comment periods is integral to managing our public lands based on the best available science and information. This assessment concludes BLM’s environmental review process under the National Environmental Policy Act.

Additional information is available at the BLM National NEPA Register. The BLM plans to issue a decision for this project in the near future. For more information, please call Project Manager Robert Sevon at 775-623-1500.
