BLM invites public to Idaho Resource Advisory Council summer meeting

BOISE, Idaho–The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Idaho Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet on Thursday, July 11, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mountain Time (MT) at the BLM Idaho State Office, 1387 S. Vinnell Way Boise, ID 83709 and virtually via Zoom. The public is invited and there will be a 30-minute public comment period beginning at 1:15 p.m. MT.

Agenda items will include renewable energy, recreation, restoration and fuels treatments, fire status, and updates from the Idaho State Office and four districts.

“Insights from the citizen-based Resource Advisory Council play an important role in the BLM’s management of Idaho’s public lands,” said BLM Acting Idaho State Director Peter Ditton. “This meeting will provide a valuable opportunity for Council members and the public to receive updates on BLM’s management of the public lands.”

The 15-member Idaho Resource Advisory Council brings together stakeholders with diverse interests to provide advice and recommendations to the BLM on issues and challenges associated with the Bureau’s multiple use mission. Individuals will be able to address the Idaho Resource Advisory Council during the public comment period. The amount of time and number of speakers may depend upon how many individuals wish to speak.  Written comments may also be submitted before the meeting to BLM Idaho RAC Coordinator MJ Byrne at mbyrne@blm.gov.
