Directions
From I-94 W or I-94 E take Exit 67 (north) towards Old US Hwy 312 and into Hysham; you can either go all the way into the town of Hysham or you can take a left at the Cut Across Road (Gumbo Hill Road is to your right). If you go left at the Cut Across Road, follow it to the end, take another left on State Highway 311 or otherwise known as Old Highway 10; keep following this road, it will curve, go over railroad tracks, immediately after the tracks (and before you cross the Yellowstone River) you will find Howrey Island Recreation Area (FWP calls it Myers Bridge) on your right hand side. If you go into the town of Hysham and do not take the Cut Across Road, follow Hwy 312 until you get to the Cenex station on your left hand side. Take a left at the Cenex (Elliot Avenue) and follow through town to the end, where you will take another left again on Old Highway 10. Follow the same directions as given above for State Highway 311/Old Hwy 10. ***These directions are if you are coming from Miles City - from Billings you would take the Hysham exit.
