Desert Survival Safety Tips:
- Always, inform someone of your destination. Tell them your route of travel and when you expect to return.
- Carry at least one gallon of water per person per day on your trip.
- Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition. If your vehicle breaks down, stay near it. A vehicle is visible for miles, but a person on foot is very difficult to find.
- Wear layered clothing to slow dehydration and decrease exposure to the elements.
