Volunteers needed for National Public Lands Day event at Pyramid Lake on September 28

CARSON CITY, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management, Carson City District, Sierra Front Field Office, will host a National Public Lands Day (NPLD) event on Saturday, September 28, 2019, to collect seeds from native plants at Pelican Point on Pyramid Lake.
Seeds collected from this event will be available for restoration projects on public and tribal lands. Water and snacks, along with a NPLD T-shirt will be provided.
When: Saturday, September 28, 2019
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Pelican Point on Pyramid Lake.
What: Volunteers will collect seeds from native plants to be available for restoration projects on public and tribal lands.
Directions: From Reno head north on 445, past Sutcliffe, then turn right on paved road to Pelican Point.
Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), gloves, sturdy boots, and dress in layers for all types of weather.
This is one of many events that will be held around the country as part of the 26th annual NPLD. NPLD is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands we all enjoy.
