The Bureau of Land Management will be hosting a tweet chat and live blogging on its Tumblr blog during a youth summit in Riverside, CA tomorrow. The BLM will host public and private partners who support youth in California in a one-day summit focused on expanding the horizons of California's youth to include the outdoors. Speakers, break-out sessions, and working groups will explore and discover how federal agencies and partners can work together to educate, engage, and employ youth in America's Great Outdoors and the field of natural resources. The summit will have a special focus on youth who are under-served, including youth with racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds, low-income youth, or girls and young women. The summit is designed to provide opportunities for organizations to celebrate, engage, and leverage what they are already doing, and offer a platform for all youth agencies in attendance to create a stronger and more connected web of partnerships to support young people on public lands. To share information and insights from tomorrow's summit, BLM and its partners will incorporate a tweet chat using the hashtag #BLMyouth. The tweet chat will start at 8 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. You can follow BLM California on its Twitter account @BLMca. Information and photos will also be shared throughout the day via live blogging on the BLM Tumblr blog at http://mypubliclands.tumblr.com/.
