CASPER, Wyo. – Have you ever wondered about your personal artifacts or relics and the possible stories behind them? Bring them to the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center this Saturday and see if a professional can help.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 16, the Trails Center will host the Artifact Roadshow, presented by Dr. Matthew Douglass from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The public is invited to bring items from their personal collections to be examined by Dr. Douglass, Trails Center Manager Dennis Kuhnel, and other experts. Through this process, the artifact owner can learn more about the age and function of their collection as well as the cultural and environmental context associated with the period they represent.

“The Road Show is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with and learn from local collectors,” says Kuhnel. “In turn, they have the opportunity to learn more about their artifacts from experts.”
