Trails Center announces June youth programs

CASPER, Wyo. – Entertain your kids all summer long with fun and educational programs at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. The Trails Center offers free youth programs every Saturday at 10 a.m.
The lineup of youth programs for this month are as follows:
- June 11: Life on the Overland Trails – How did the typical pioneer survive the monotony of the trail? Join us as we showcase a slice of life on the Overland Trail.
- June 18: Battle of Red Buttes (History Club) – Hone your historical thinking skills by sequencing historical events on the Great Plains. Young historians and Trails Center education technician Stacey Moore will walk through how the Battle of Red Buttes fits with other historical events of the era.
- June 25: Pioneer Pastimes – Pioneers had to pass the time somehow while travelling the Overland Trails. Join us to learn about some of the fun games pioneer kids played.
Hands-on History classes are geared for children ages seven through eleven; however, all ages are welcome. Chaperones are required to stay on-site for the duration of the program and are invited to participate in activities.
