Snowshoe Hike in Lamoille Canyon

ELKO, Nev. – There will be a community snowshoe hike in Lamoille Canyon near the vicinity of the Talbot Trail and Power House Picnic Area located in the Ruby Mountains at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23.

The event will start at 5:00 p.m. and last approximately two hours. Snowshoes are available at no charge; please call the BLM Elko District office at (775) 753-0200 to reserve a pair of snow shoes or you can bring your own equipment. There may be several trails for this hike. After the hike, free snacks and hot chocolate will be served around a lit campfire.

The Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Nevada State Parks, South Fork State Park, and Nevada Outdoor Schools has teamed up to offer this free guided snowshoe hike.
