Summary: The Pine Hollow Fire is nearing containment despite continued hot, dry, and windy conditions. Crews report 89% containment of this fire, with a goal to reach 100% after today or tomorrow’s shift. The remaining uncontained edge of the fire is in the southwest part of the incident and crews will use direct attack tactics and aerial resources today to extinguish as many hot spots as they can and secure the fire line.

In other portions of the burn area, crews began repair work in areas impacted by suppression activities. This includes covering bare ground that was recently exposed by dozers as they created fire line, and improving road conditions (particularly Winter Road) that deteriorated by the high volume of heavy machinery in the area.

Because of the decreased activity of the fire, resources continue to de-mobilize and return to their home units or be assigned to other fires.
