Missoula BLM releases details on Resource Management Plan revision

(MISSOULA, Mont.) – The Bureau of Land Management’s Missoula Field Office is rolling out preliminary alternatives for the revision of its Resource Management Plan. 
 
The public can review documents and maps discussing the preliminary alternatives at http://1.usa.gov/21RNCPG, or attend one of the upcoming open houses throughout the local area. 
 
The alternatives are the first public look at a new direction of public land management for the Missoula BLM. These alternatives synthesize years of planning, agency coordination, and public involvement into three alternatives.

Members of the BLM planning team will be on hand to answer questions and take input from the public. There will be no formal presentation; participants are welcome to come and go anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
 
“Public involvement is a key component to revising the RMP,” said Missoula Field Manager Joe Ashor. “By sharing these high-level allocations early in the revision process, we hope to make sure we are on the right track before diving deeper into the revision process. It’s really a check-in to make sure we’ve captured all the issues that are important to the public since this process began.”
