Photo by Bob Wick/BLM.EUREKA, Calif. – Halloween at Headwaters, an annual evening guided walk through the “ghost town” of Falk, is set for Saturday, Oct. 26, with five guided tours by reservation only between 4:30 and 6 p.m.  This free, family friendly event features historical characters telling stories of the once-bustling lumber town of Falk and storytelling at the Headwaters Education Center.

The round trip, candle-light tour is about a mile on a paved, accessible surface and lasts about 90 minutes.

“This is a popular event and space is limited on our shuttles, so we urge everyone to make reservations early,” said Molly Brown, manager of the Bureau of Land Management Arcata Field Office.  Reservations can be made online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/halloween-at-headwaters-tickets-74861720421.

Because of limited space at the Elk River Trailhead, shuttles will be required for participants.  There will be no room on the shuttles for dogs.

This fourth annual event is hosted by the BLM Arcata Field Office, Friends of Headwaters Forest Reserve and Redwood Parks Conservancy.

More information about the event or Headwaters Forest Reserve is available from Julie Clark at the BLM Arcata Field Office, 707-825-2317.
