Battle Mountain, NV – The Bureau of Land Management, Mount Lewis Field Office, has completed analysis of the Lander County Golf Course Reversionary Interest Direct Land Sale and has opened the 30-day comment period on the Environmental Assessment.
The purpose of the proposed action is to respond to the Lander County Commission’s request for a Non-Competitive Direct Sale of the Revisionary Interest reserved by the United States in lands conveyed in 1991 by patent number 27-91-0013, under the Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Act. It also implements the 1986 Shoshone-Eureka Resource Management Plan decision to dispose of lands, as authorized under Title II of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.
The Environmental Assessment included coordination with the Lander County Commissioners and other interested parties and stakeholders. The EA examined socioeconomic issues associated with the direct land sale and analyzed the effects, both positive and negative, the proposed action will have on the affected environment.
