LAS VEGAS —Public Land Order (PLO) No.7890 was approved by the Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks, Rob Wallace and provides a 20-year extension of a public land withdrawal established in 1999 by PLO 7419 for the Department of the Air Force (DAF) for safety purposes.

The withdrawn land encompasses 2,252 acres and is still being used by the DAF at Nellis Air Force Base, northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, to support safety buffers for potentially hazardous areas, protect populated areas, and facilitate Air Force compliance with the Department of Defense Directive No. 6055.09E regarding ammunition and explosive safety standards. The safety buffer zone includes security patrol roads and a security checkpoint.

For any questions regarding this order, please contact the BLM Southern Nevada District Office, Attn: Tom Seley, Project Manager, 4701 North Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada 89130–2301; email to tseley@blm.gov or fax to (702) 515-5010.
