Butte Field Office makes land health reports available

(BUTTE, Mont.) – The Bureau of Land Management’s Butte Field Office has released an assessment report completed during the 2013 field seasons for 12 livestock grazing allotments within the Missouri River Foothills Planning Area.The report is available online at http://bit.ly/2hff3EhThe land health assessments are conducted to determine if public lands are meeting the Western Montana Standards for Rangeland Health. Standards include maintaining properly functioning upland and riparian areas, assuring that water quality and air quality meet State standards, and providing for biodiversity.The information in these reports will be used by BLM employees over the winter to analyze renewal of grazing permits.Copies of the reports can also be reviewed at the Butte Field Office located at 106 North Parkmont in Butte.For more information, call the field office at (406) 533-7600.
