LAS VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Vegas Field Office announces a public input period for the planning criteria for the Logandale Trails Resource Management Plan Amendment, Environmental Assessment, Recreation Area Management Plan, and Travel Management Plan. The BLM is seeking the public's feedback to establish the scope of the land use plan amendment and set the framework/foundation for the decisions to be made. The public will be able to provide their input on the planning criteria during a 30-day period from February 4, 2022, through March 7, 2022.

“We look forward to the feedback on the Logandale Trails project proposed planning criteria and incorporating the information into our resource management plan amendment,” said BLM Las Vegas Field Office Manager Shonna Dooman.

On December 6, 2021, the Las Vegas Field Office concluded the public scoping period for the Logandale Trails project. In compliance with BLM land use planning guidance, the Las Vegas Field Office is seeking public input for the proposed planning criteria. The planning criteria are the standards, rules, and other factors developed by managers and interdisciplinary team members for use in forming judgements about decision making, analysis, and data collection during the planning process. The planning criteria provides a summary list for the BLM land use planning process.

The BLM has preliminarily identified some criteria, but we are seeking the public's input to guide the development of the resource management plan amendment, to avoid unnecessary data collection and analysis, and to ensure the resource management plan amendment is tailored to the issues.  These criteria may be modified and/or other criteria may be identified during this public input process.

The public is encouraged to review the criteria, located at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2016311/510. More information about these plans can be found at https://www.virtualpublicmeeting.com/logandale-trails-ea.

Comments on the planning criteria will be accepted until March 7, 2022, and will be incorporated into the Draft Environmental Assessment and Recreation Area Management Plan planned for public input Spring of 2022.
