The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wyoming invites members of the public to view an informational Planning 2.0 webinar on Monday, March 21 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at BLM offices across the state.

In February, the BLM published the new planning approach in a proposed rule in the Federal Register taking a major step forward in its Planning 2.0 initiative to modernize the planning process and increase public involvement in the management of 245 million acres of public lands the agency directs.

The main purpose of the webinar is to help inform public comment on the proposed rule. The BLM is accepting public comments on the proposed rule thru April 25, 2016. Comments can be submitted by completing an electronic form at www.regulations.gov, visitors can use the search term “Resource Management Planning" to quickly access the proposed rule.

The new Planning 2.0 approach will make future land-use planning more collaborative, transparent, and effective. The changes will increase opportunities for early engagement by state and local governments, Tribes and other stakeholders in BLM's land-use decision-making while adopting a broader landscape-scale, science-based approach to managing public lands and incorporate modern technology into the agency's planning process. The public is welcome to visit any of the following BLM offices on March 21, 2016 to view the Planning 2.0 webinar.
