BLM Wyoming holds successful wild horse adoption at the 2019 Cheyenne Frontier Days

CHEYENNE, Wyo. –The Bureau of Land Management and Mantle’s Wild Horses successfully found new homes for all 22 wild horses available for adoption at the 2019 Cheyenne Frontier Days. Since expanding the adoption event at Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) in 2015, the BLM and Mantle’s Wild Horses have adopted every animal brought to Cheyenne for the event.
This year’s adoption event saw record attendance at wild horse training demonstrations put on by Mantle’s Wild Horses, 57 approved adoption applications, and total adoption fees of $22,250. Droggo, a 5-year old dun gelding from Adobe Town Herd Management Area received the highest adoption bid for a wild horse at CFD at $4,300.
The BLM conducts several wild horse and burro adoptions all over the country. The next live adoption event in Wyoming will be August 13-17 at the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas, Wyoming and will feature halter-started horses trained at Mantle’s Wild Horses.
